SightSense
SightSense is an assistive technology app I co-founded that helps blind and low-vision users understand and navigate the world. It runs entirely on iPhone, combining on-device machine learning, LiDAR depth sensing, and real-time haptic/audio feedback to translate live surroundings into clear, accessible guidance.
We are currently partnered with the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Foundation for Fighting Blindness, and the California School for the Blind for testing and feedback.
Our work was recognized as the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge.
As CTO, I architected real-time ML pipelines, designed adaptive haptic/audio systems, and built a fully accessible interface optimized for blind users.

FRC Robotics
As Co-Head of Software for my school’s FRC Robotics team, I’ve led programming since freshman year, focusing on autonomous systems, sensor fusion, and real-time control.
My proudest contribution was developing a custom odometry and path planning system. I designed a Kalman filter–based sensor fusion pipeline for precise robot localization, helped building a custom web app for path planning and real-time control, and created a one-button autonomous routine where the robot could plan and execute optimized paths to score or intake faster than human drivers.
These systems gave our team software capabilities on par with some of the biggest teams in FRC, helping us grow more competitive each season.

Autodidactic Learning

I’ve been teaching myself things for as long as I can remember. When I came to the U.S. in fifth grade, I had to learn English by myself. That experience gave me the confidence to teach myself just about anything. Since then, I self-studied AP Physics, college-level math, and programming languages just to make my projects. With this experience, I am confident that I can make anything that I can imagine, because I will just learn how to make it while making it. Today, being an autodidact is just my way of life.
Leadership

I’ve led small teams that consistently punch above their weight. Whether in robotics or at a startup, I help define the technical path forward and make sure everyone has what they need to execute. I believe the best kind of leadership is leading by example, inspiring my teammates to push beyond their imaginary limits with me.
CS + AI

I see computer science and AI as the most powerful skillset today for building and deploying projects that make an impact. Although I love the beauty of mathematics and algorithm design, I find myself more captivated by their applications outside of theory. The only thing more satisfying than writing code in O(n) time is watching it help a blind user find her purse.
Grit

I don’t back down from hard problems. As a high school sophomore, I finished Berkeley’s hardest math class in half the usual time. At my first hackathon, I pulled an all-nighter to learn Swift from scratch. I’ve built a habit of throwing myself into challenges I’m not “ready” for and pushing through anyway. I enjoy the challenge of "jumping into the deep end" and learning how to swim.
Communication

Technology only matters if it's targeting the right problems and people can understand and use it. That’s why I put as much effort into communication as I do into code. Some of my best afternoons are spent volunteering at events organized by the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually impaired like the Foodie Walk in 2025 (pictured).
I’ve also worked directly with blind and low-vision users to refine accessibility features and even shared my work with Congress. My goal is to make the complicated things I make seem simple to the user.
